Welcome to the Club

This Devo is not for perfect people. If you happen to be perfect, please see Revelations 14:13. For everybody else, Welcome to the Club!
We are all commanded to strive for perfection and we have been made perfect before God by the blood of Jesus, but none of us have arrived! So often we think that nobody has ever cut up like we have. So we feel pressured to put on this front like we are invincible to sin and temptation, but inside we feel like crap because we know we're not that person we're pretending to be. Have you ever in your life felt that God wanted you to do something but you didn't feel worthy because of your past or even because of your present? As Christians we understand that we are to forgive our brother's offense and treat him like it never happened, but we forget that Luke 10:27 says we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We hold things against ourselves that we let other people slide for. So what! You're not perfect! Welcome to the Club! Let me introduce you to one of your club members.
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended (possess, literally or figuratively, apprehend, attain, come upon, comprehend, find, obtain, perceive, over-take.): but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Paul, the apostle and writer - through whom half of the New Testament was written - says "look, I know I'm an apostle, but that doesn’t mean that I have this thing down packed. I make mistakes too. But there is one thing that I do have down packed. When I mess up I put it behind me and I move on.
We don’t conquer sin by majoring on our weaknesses to it. We conquer sin by majoring on God’s love, mercy & grace. Nothing can separate us from His love, His mercy endures forever, and His Grace is sufficient for you. Welcome to the Club!
